From Belgium To Mars

Can you make a snowman on Mars?

Scientists from the Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy (BIRA-IASB) have contributed to the study of snowfall on Mars! Thanks to a very precise instrument on the “ExoMars” mission (ESA, European Space Agency) they will search for atmospheric signs of current or past life, since all forms of life breathe or at least interact with their environment.

Scientists compare the current Martian atmosphere with that of the Earth and other similar planets, such as Venus. The scientists working at BIRA-IASB want to know why the atmosphere of Mars is 100 times less dense then that of the Earth!
